In 1985, during a Nike Europe tour, Michael Jordan shattered a backboard while executing a powerful dunk, wearing an orange, black, and white uniform. To commemorate this moment, the 2015 Air Jordan 1 ‘Shattered Backboard’ was released. Following this, in Fall 2016, the Air Jordan 1 ‘Shattered Backboard Away’ (also known as ‘Reverse’ or ‘Shattered Backboard 2.0’) debuted. This version retained the black laces and Nike branding but replaced the orange toe box and black accents around the toe and tongue with white.
