The KAWS x Air Jordan 4 Retro is a unique collaboration between Jordan Brand and Brooklyn street artist KAWS, also known as Brian Donnelly. This design eliminates the traditional plastic elements, instead featuring a premium grey suede upper and midsole. KAWS’ ‘XX’ branding is prominently displayed on the heel tab. Released in March 2017, this collection also included a coaches jacket, hoodie, t-shirt, and hat. The release generated immense hype, leading to police intervention at Patta in London and sneakerheads hacking Donnelly’s website for a chance to purchase.
